GPIO Assembly Guide

Under construction....

If you are looking for the beta GPIO assembly guide, it is here.

The general purpose input/output board (GPIO) board comes partly assembled. All the surface mount devices have already been soldered to the board. These include the processor, and the serial and CAN communication circuits.

Please note that the production GPIO units have some differences to the beta GPIO boards. These include different comnponents numbering and placement, and a swap of some ports:

PortBetaProduction
PAD01GPI2VB1
PE0VB1GPI2
PE1EGT4GPI1
PAD00GPI1EGT4

These may require some jumpering when using code developed on beta boards.

There are a number of steps remaining to build your general purpose input/output board. These go under the main stages of:

  1. Assemble the power supply circuit,
  2. Assemble a serial connector cable,
  3. Test the communications,
  4. Select and assemble the input/output circuits you wish to implement,
  5. Write/set the code to activate those circuits,
  6. Test the I/O circuits.
